The Little Word That Makes a Big Difference: The Power of "Yet"

The Little Word That Makes a Big Difference: The Power of "Yet"

Ever find yourself thinking things like, "I'm not clever enough," "I'll never be good at this," or "I just can't do it"? We all have those moments of self-doubt, don't we? It's like there's this little voice in your head determined to make you feel rubbish.

Well, I'm here to tell you about a simple trick that's helped me loads. It's all about adding one tiny word to those pesky negative thoughts: "yet."

From "Can't" to "Can't...Yet"

Think about it. "I can't do it" feels pretty final, doesn't it? Like you've hit a dead end. But "I can't do it yet" – that little word changes everything. It leaves room for possibility, for growth, for giving it another go.

It's about having a "growth mindset" instead of that rotten "fixed mindset." Instead of thinking your abilities are set in stone, you start to see them as something you can develop over time. You're not a failure; you're a work in progress!

Give it a Go!

Next time you hear that negative voice in your head, try adding "yet." "I'm not good enough...yet." "I don't understand this...yet." It might feel a bit silly at first, but trust me, it's surprisingly powerful.

It's not about magically becoming perfect overnight. It's about reminding yourself that you've got potential, that you're capable of learning and changing. And that is what makes all the difference.

Let me know how you get on with it!
